Lead singer and guitarist Giancarlo Marino and lead guitarist Francesco Frullone
(also known for their work with the band DONNA) bassist Ernesto Osci and drummer Roberto Perrone came together from the Naples music scene in the early nineties. Marino and Osci played together in the mid-eighties with a band called SLURP on DISKFIVE RECORDS before Marino went off on his own to form the band D BUZZ. Osci, Frullone and Perrone's background includes musical collaboration with the famous Italian artist Eduardo Bennato and live performances on major Italian networks, plus many others.
In conceiving SERIOUS in 1993 Giancarlo Marino decided to focus the band on recording and studio experimentation rather than gigging throughout the declining L. A. scene; although the band has performed at some of L. A.'s popular clubs. Citing JOCONDA RECORDS as the label which saw Giancarlo Marino and the band as a creative entity rather than just another marketable product, the foursome hooked up with producer/engineer Luca Rustici (brother of the well known Corrado) for their long awaited single debut.
The CD SERIOUS was recorded and mixed in Naples in November 1993 and released worldwide in November 1994, which quickly sold out of its initial pressing. MARINO has developed a loyal and ever-growing following with this debut release that blends rock, funk, pop, an heavy wall of guitars and an erring sense of melody.
